One endpoint. The right model for every request.
One API key for five providers and 16 models — no five separate signups. Set "model": "auto" and the gateway routes each call for you: quality-band routing on authoritative benchmarks, cost-aware within the band.
It reads the task first
Code, long-doc, translation, summary, writing — the gateway reads your prompt, detects the task type, and dispatches to the candidate that leads that task's international authoritative benchmarks (primarily Artificial Analysis). You can also pin it with task_hint.
Quality band first
Candidates are ranked by international public benchmarks. Only first-tier models within 5 points of the leader enter the quality band and become eligible — anything weaker is never routed, no matter how cheap. Quality is decided before price.
Cost-aware within the band
When quality is a wash, we save you every cent: price is compared only inside the band and the cheapest in-band model wins; at equal price, the lower-latency, more stable lane wins. Never below the band.
Three preferences, your call
quality (default) takes the strongest in the band — the recommended default for the best result; balanced is the optional middle ground between cost and quality; cost saves wherever the band allows. Every request follows your preference.
No benchmark, no routing
A new model without international authoritative benchmark scores never enters smart routing — manual selection only. Every strength judgement traces back to public international benchmarks you can verify independently.
Auditable decisions
Every response carries a routing_decision block: which model served you, which candidates were considered, why it won, and the benchmark source behind the ranking.
